BUYING THE BEST PLEATED TRENCH COAT
If you’re one of the fashion-conscious who is always on the lookout for the newest styles in clothing, then there’s no doubt that you’ve noticed a new trend–pleated trench coats. And if you’re like most people looking for a quality trench coat, it would be wise to read some trench coat reviews before making your purchase decisions. Luckily, I’ve done all the tedious work of narrowing down and comparing products, so all you have to do is make your selection.
You may not think it at first glance, but finding a good quality pleated trench coat can take some time; after all, there are dozens and dozens of companies out there that manufacture them. So what should you be looking for to ensure your purchase will last for years?
Accuracy of sizing: Many manufacturers have gotten the sizing of the coats a little out of whack; in many cases, their coats have been sized way too big. The downside is that the cost of a coat that’s too big will be greater than one that fits perfectly.
If you buy your coat from one of those companies that have their coats sized incorrectly, pick up a pair of tweezers and get as much material out of the coat as possible before buying it. It may seem like an inconvenience now, but trust me, this little trick will save you money in the long run.
Stitching: Most companies, unfortunately, are not very good at stitching, especially on the inside of the coats. The stitching near the armholes and collar can be especially weak to avoid tearing the coat. So if you ever see either of these issues in a coat for sale, do not hesitate to buy that one; other than that, it’s a pretty good investment for your overall wardrobe.
Faux leather material: For those who don’t already know, faux leather is a thin layer of synthetic material often used as an outer covering for most clothing items. The drawback to this type of material is that it can easily fray or rip apart over time, and once it does, it usually doesn’t look good.
